Another wrote: “Here we go again.” A third tweeted, with the crying emoji: “Not messenger acting while im literally in a middle of an argument. Others took to Twitter to report the outages. Meanwhile, for Instagram, 76% of reported problems are about the app, 12% are about the feed and 12% are about logging in. The site reports that 74% of the Messenger issues are affecting the sending of messages, 19% are struggling to use the app and seven percent are unable to use the website. Its also understood that mobile users are finding the app crashes when it encounters whatever is causing the problems. DownDetector, the website which monitors outages on popular sites, recorded a spike at 4pm as people registered problems with both Messenger and Instagram.Īccording to DownDetector, Bristol and London are the areas having the most problems with Messenger.
Reports began to surface at around 4pm today. According to Downdetector, nearly 3,000 people have reported the outage on Facebook Messenger. Photo and video sharing social networking service Instagram is also affected. Facebook Messenger has unexpectedly crashed, preventing numerous users across the UK from sending and receiving instant text messages as well as photos and videos.
